2 year Musings

Another year come and gone in happy wedded glossiness. I suppose we don’t classify as newlyweds anymore. When does newlywed classification expire anyway? When do you just become plain old married folk?

I think we’re plain old married folk now but with a newlywed spirit. Yeehaw.

Year 2 was interesting to say the least, and started off not as well as it ended, to be sure. Year 2 involved a promotion, a debilitating work injury, job losses, and better job gains. The financial pendulum swung from one end to the other. And I figure if we didn’t assault each other with that figurative pendulum in the process, we’re good. Better than good. Because no matter what the difficult situation encountered we’re betrothed besties. We love to laugh with each other and talk and talk and talk. At the end of the day, I consider Rob my best bud, my truest true pal there is. I think that’s what a marriage should be, friendship as a basis. Frequent, open and truthful communication, trust in best intentions and love, loyalty to togetherness and time, desire of fun and genuine happiness trumping all, sincerity in apology, quality of bond.

Basically, after this blur of time that has led to 2 years of marriage, which coincidently also feels like much more time than that, I can honestly say I have no complaints and am content and full - of the utmost love and like (both are equally important in my humble opinion) for the ol’ husband, my partner in life.

Year 3 will present it’s own set of challenges and wonders. Here we go!
