So, we had two celebrations for our 1st wedding anniversary, hence the “Part One”. And yes, it’s because we think we’re that super awesome and special and amazeballs. ‘Tis true.
The first was when we were in Croatia, one month before our actual anniversary date. We figured that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to celebrate in the motherland and that one month away was close enough to still count. Plus, Croatia and the island of Pag that we were on has so much special meaning for us, making multiple appearances in our romantic history. So it was beyond fitting for the celebration of our first year of wedded bliss to take place in that very beloved place of ours… which is, coincidently the epitome of bliss.
We decided to go for dinner at Boskinac (the many times beloved) as it also is pretty deeply woven into our love fabric. Yup, our looooooooove fabric. We went there on our first trip together to Croatia (on our 8 month dating anniversary – 8 months! Imagine!), we went there right before we got engaged, and we went there after we got engaged. Therefore, there we went again, for the 1 year anniversary of our nuptials. It was lovely and special and we were just the perfect amount of tan (as it was near the end of our trip) that we glowed happiness literally and figuratively.
The meal as usual was mouth-watering, the wine equally so, and we savored every last morsel and moment. It was one of those really amazing whole-other-level dinner dates, where you feel like you could go on for hours and hours (and you do) talking and laughing about everything and anything and even getting a little philosophical or reflective on life and plans for the future. One of those dinners where time stands still and everything else is a blur around you except the clinking of your glasses, the sounds of your own laughter, and the swelling of love in your hearts. The fact that we were nestled in a quiet vineyard on an island in Croatia also aided in creating this loopy lovey atmosphere most definitely.
And loopy love is the very best kind.
