year in review - 2012 - in pictures

Started off 2012 with another NYE host at our casa, affectionately dubbed the smallitis of the NYE for it's small, yet no less worthy, crowd. Great friends and great laughter = great way to start off the year.

Wined and dined for the annual Mopipa Christmas sleepover and Secret Santa gift exchange (in January - ain't quite as easy coordinating our adult schedules as when we were in the 8th grade). Many girly (not at all womanly) cackling giggles were had. Much love.

Goodbyes were said (and tears shed) for the hubby's ol' betsy VW Jetta. The car was as much a part of his personality and our early dating history as he was! The knife twist of the loss was that all he got for it was enough to get a pair of Ray-Bans.

The husband made me a heart-shaped red velvet cake for Valentine's Day. I think it was probably the sweetest gift he's ever given me (and most hilarious).

Birthday-ed it up in a wintery way for Rob's annual celebration of his birth.

Made the trek up to Ottawa for a gal's weekend/bridal shower celebration for Miss Meleny, officially ringing in a year of weddings in my friend crew.

Bridal shower season was in full DIY swing. Made these lil' babies for Meleny's Toronto bridal shower. Just. Call. Me. Martha.

Showered her loveliness Meleny with love and all things bridal for a garden themed springtime fĂȘte. Happiful day.

Bridal showered it up some more with my longtime besties at Tomei's Very Merry Un-Bridal Shower (all things Alice in Wonderland are much loved around these parts).

Celebrated the engagement of one of my oldest and dearest's Marie, to her love, Jozo. They're affectionately dubbed MoZo and their time is a comin' this July!

Baby Luca came into the world and we were granted the honour of being asked to be his godparents.

Melons and pepperonis for Meleny's bachelorette weekend. I'll leave this inside joke at that ;)

We celebrated my Aunt and Uncle's 20th wedding anniversary with a fancy shmance dinner at the Ritz Carlton. Yay to family gatherings and love.

And I was a bridesmaid for the very first time.

A year of weddings continued with my best friend's bridal shower, for which I reared my theme-crazy DIY head again with the creation of the invitations. I think they're splendid.

An all-white affair for the MOH to my MOH-ness, Caroline. Another very happiful day.

Headed up to a home away from home for cottage summer fun in the sun with the friend crew.

Friend-fam breakfasts. The best.

Travel time for the Vegas bachelorette for the bestest Caroline. It was, in a word, epic.

And in another word (that isn't even a word), YOLO.

More localized bachelorette celebrations. More (hate to say it again) YOLO-ness.

Celebrated my 27th birthday with a grilled fish romantical dinner made by the hubs. Also, found out I was preggo. Good thing I squeezed in all that YOLO business.

Long time love of long time friend celebrated with a beautiful love gushing wedding day.

And I was beyond honoured to be the MOH to my MOH.

Rob and I marked 2 years of marriage already (where the time goes, beats me!). We're still goo-goo-ga and I love the guy, I do.

We also took a rainy mini-getaway up north to celebrate the goo-goo-ga. It was a fail, yet romantic nonetheless.

Luca officially became our godson.

Had an explosion of friend love for Tomei and Paul's love day.

Celebrated with my Dida Stanko for his 80th birthday at Croatia Restaurant.

Got a double dose of cottage fun with a fall instalment of the friendliness of friends.

Rob and I decided to celebrate the lucky number 7 (in years of our togetherness) with a romantic fanciful dinner. Why not, I say!

Showered my dear friend (fellow preggo) Danijela and her very own very hungry caterpillar (in her belly that is) with all things baby and book related. This little one's arrival is scheduled next month, can't wait to meet him or her!

Hosted our 2nd annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party.

And rounded out a year of weddings with the NYC engagement of dear friends Dave and Teresa (it's about time!) and the Christmas Eve engagement of Amanda and Fluvz. Here's to these weddings in 2014! The party don't stop up in our friend house!

Had a special (last one before babydom) Christmas with all the family we are so blessed to have.

Rocked a sober NYE at Central Perk (the crib of our good friends the Perkovics, get it, at Central Perk?).

Here's to 2013 and an influx of momentous photo worthy occasions to come!
