So Christmas happened.

Once again Christmas came and went in the blink of an eye (nevermind New Years as well). And already it's January and then it'll be February and so on and so forth and well by the Spring, Baby Badurina will be here!

Breathe, Yvonne, breathe.

Though Christmas already feels 'twas several months ago, 'twas a wonderful one that I'll look back upon fondly. Christmas really is one of my favourite times of year, you can just feel the magic in the air, even as an adult. This one was the last with just me and the hubs as a pair in our little fam jam. Now there's the anticipation of seeing that magic through a child's eyes, as 2 become 3. My poor child will be subject to many a Christmas tradition old and new, not to mention subjected to endless photos of the santa hat-ed and reindeer ear-ed variety. I can't wait :)

Christmas Eve is the pièce de résistance in my familial celebrations. It's always at my parent's house and it's a huge fish party celebration (as we don't eat meat on Christmas Eve), with my parents and brother, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles and cousins. I look forward to it every year. We still open presents as a great big family, some of my cousins are still small enough to beg multiple times after dinner for present opening time (not understanding the grown ups' need for coffee after meal time). My dad always dons a faux beard and a santa hat and hands out the gifts, much to the delight of everyone. This year we also broke out into a spontaneous rendition of 'Mele Kalikimaka". Awesomeness all around.

My brother gifted us with the first gift for Baby. It's a super cute handmade stuffed animal from BlaBla. I love it and I'm sure Baby will too. We of course used it as a prop and posed for photos by the tree in preparation for next year's more than likely photoshoot with the babe.

Christmas morning involves sleeping in after having gone to Midnight mass the night before, though I assume this will be switched around next year with a baby in the mix. But for this year, Rob and I enjoyed sleeping in and eating a hearty egg and bacon breakfast and watching Elf. And I played the role of a kid on Christmas morning quite well as usual, as per the below. And got gifted with some coveted dainty Kate Spade goodness. Yay!

Afterwards we headed to Rob's parents for the Badurina side of Christmas and ate and ate some more.

Yes, 'twas a wonderful Christmas, 'twas.
