33 weeks to the 40 weeks (sorta late)

This whole having a baby thing is fast approaching. And I believe I am still in major denial. Better hop on that reality train soon! Eek!

In the mean time, some more expecting unexpecteds from the last little while:

  • I need help getting up off the couch. ‘Tis sad but true. The hubby literally needs to help me up like I am of the infirm. I knew having a belly would throw everything off-kilter body-wise. But I never expected to be so burdened by my ginormous-ness. As if anything could make me feel any huger than being hoisted. Oh and if I’m lying down on the couch and try to move to a seated position or move in any way really, I’m like a flailing beached whale. It’s a tragic comedic affair every time I rotate.
  • Further to not being able to make the simplest of movements, you should see me try to put on socks or shoes. It’s seeming to get to a point of impossibility. That belly literally is just in the way. I physically can’t reach. And everytime I need to accomplish one of these tasks (that before pregnancy are not even consciously performed due to their mundane everyday occurance), I hum and haw and say "ow" and have personal sound effects. I could be my own cartoon character.
  • They’re called child bearing hips for a reason people. They are literally BEARING the weight of a CHILD. A human being. With that, they are expanding in girth the bigger the child gets. I feel like when I sit down my hips and thighs pool over themselves in a pool of flabby oozy fat tissue. Baby got back? Well this baby hath given me some back that’s for sure. With two sausage thighs for good measure. (Side note, I do acknowledge the fact that in my current state my size perception may be a tad exaggerated when it comes to anything weight related. But I feel huge, therefore I am huge.)

Also, despite my ranting vs raving tilt to these weekly updates, pregnancy really is awe-inducing and a beautiful thing. I’ll try to be in a more awe-inspired frame of mind for the next update!
