Wedding Day YAY - Snipits of Details and Decor

So Meleny and Brian's Wedding Day has officially come and gone and all that remains are my billion and one snipits of the day. I was (an always am) the unofficial photog of special and not-so-special events - basically the capturer of my and any of my friends every waking moment. So you can bet I was on my A game this past Saturday as a 1st time bridesmaid.

Here are some snipits of the day in details and decor.

THE HOUSE

The bride got ready at her sister Danijela's house, the Maid of Honour. She has a spacious, beautiful, green, and flowered backyard. The sun was shining and you couldn't ask for a more beautiful day to get hitched.

The backyard was decked out by the fab bridesmaid decorating duo of Ana and Marija - who had done this before with the bride's twin sister Melissa's wedding almost 5 years ago. And they weren't even the slightest bit rusty!

THE DRESS

Meleny's dress was one of those cases where the dress just FITS the bride. It suited her and her personality and style beautifully. It was unique and different and not a "typical" wedding dress. It's a shame she only gets to wear it once!

But as a fellow bridesmaid has long been planning for, one day we are going to have a wedding dress party with the gals and all get dressed up in our wedding dresses and feel pretty and witty and gaaaaaaaaay.

I definitely await the day we all get jiggy in our white dresses.

THE BOUQUETS

The bride's bouquet was all in white with some subtle hints of pinky-purples. The most beautiful part of her bouquet, however, was that it was wrapped in her late father's tie and her late mother's brooch. It was a touching way to have them right there with her the entire day.

Our bridesmaid bouquets were a pop of colour and definitely complimented our all black dresses and purple shoes. The "vision", if you will, was carried out beautifully. We all rocked that fuchsia.

THE VENUE

Walking into the hall was a sight to be seen, the colours and glitz and glam were breath-taking and I'm sure exactly as the bride had envisioned. There was purple lighting with silver sparkly adorned tables, with crystal candelabras and white flowers. The guest favours (in addition to donations made to charity) were pretty little gift boxes with chocolates inside, Lindt but of course. Everything was beyond gorgeous.

The beautiful table below was at the front of the hall and showcased the donation certificates made to charity as well as 'in memoriam' candles for the bride's parents. I never had the honour of meeting Meleny's mother, as she passed before I came into the familyship fold. However, I consider myself very lucky to have met and known her father Pino before his recent passing. He was a wonderful man, always full of love and laughter in his eyes and his entire being. His presence was definitely missed that day, but also felt very strongly. The table below was a wonderful way to show that they were there in spirit.
