I'd apologize (again) for the lack of promptness in these posts (again), but really, who cares? Except for me. So I apologize to myself. There. Done. Moving on.
The fifth month of Mister Leo's existence brought more and more growing up for the little guy. He started to become just that - a little guy, a little man. He has a personality and it's crazy town.
Month 5:
- The exersaucer jumpy thing was introduced. Now that he can hold his head and upper body up like a CHAMP. And well, it opened up a new world to him. Those things are dreadful eyesores of contraptions, but as foretold to me by many a mama, the kiddos love them. And it opened up a new world to me, as he will no longer be confined to a bouncer or swing or anything of the sort without extreme contortionism ensuing. So I can finally put him down and know he's busily confined to something for a few minutes. A few minutes enough to make dinner or attend to some other housewifely task. Oooooor (gasp) make myself a tea or snack or engage in some other personal indulgence. Bless the exersaucer jumpy thing!
- He plays with his toys now. Really plays with them. Like a big boy. The expression on his face as he's trying to figure stuff out and see how it works or what it can do, breaks my heart in the best kind of way. I find myself sighing and exclaiming the clichéd, "They grow up so fast!". But newflash, it's TRUE.
- Giggles. More and more giggles. There never was such a beautiful sound. Oh and every time he does, he gets the hiccups. Without fail. Which makes us giggle in turn.
- When he's tired and ready for bed, he starts to do the thumb shuffle. Back and forth. Left to right. Right to left.
- He cannot sit still anymore. Everything requires a launching of movement. He's going to be trouble that one. Squirmasaurus.
- That being said, he rolls both ways now. Over and over and over again.
- A foot obsession has taken hold and he has always got his legs in the air like he just don't care. Then he discovered, much to his surprise, that not only could he put his hands in his mouth, but his feet too. Oh what a glorious day that was for him!
The love overfloweth for Mister Leo.
