So the travel luck, or LACK thereof really, continued upon landing in Zagreb, although the unfortunate circumstance I speak of was still a by-product of our London visit, as Rob would be eager to emphasize. Basically, Rob’s wallet was left in the safe in the hotel in London. I could say that Rob is responsible for his own belongings and therefore HE forgot HIS wallet, but according to his version of the story, his beloved wife forgot HIS wallet as she had removed the passports from the safe. Now I lean towards my version obviously, which holds true to the laws of possession of personal property and something along those lines, and Rob holds true to his. Something tells me this will be something that we will still argue about in our old age, decrepit with a he said/she said battle.
On continues the faulty luck, as when we arrived at the bus station in Zagreb to take our overnight bus to the coast, I attempted to take out money from a bank machine. I was successful in that regard, however I was not so successful in taking out my bank card as well. As a result we were left with only the money we had managed to take out, zero bank cards, and solely my Visa. Fun times.
Other than that, we tried not to sweat it too much, c’est la vie after all. And we were headed on down to the Adriatic coast, in other words the happiest place on earth, our very own sun-soaked, sea-salted, and vino-ed out version of Disneyland. Once we were in Rob’s hometown village of Jakisnica, how could all not be well?
We spent our time there doing not much of anything other than sunbathing, swimming, eating, and drinking. Really just enjoying and relaxing and basking in it all.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are several thousand worth of words.
(More vacay posts to come, i.e. the highlight reel).
