Best Friend Bachelorette Decor
My best friend Caroline’s bachelorette shindig was hosted and decorated-up by moi as Maid of Honour. The main colours were pink, black, and white, and zebra (zebra is a colour too DUH). I love me a theme and/or colour story, so I definitely stayed within that. Some raunch injections to the theme came in the form of male member paraphernalia.
The colours and raunch were carried out with different décor items such as: balloons, heart shaped post-its, tissue paper pom poms (no party is complete without them I say), mardi-gras style beads, boas, a willy cake, furry handcuffs, and some appropriately coloured food and drink supplies complete with some drink umbrellas.
Some extra little fun or special items were in the signage.
First off, was the “Drinkin' Wit My Bitches” banner. I was determined to buy this banner ever since I saw it on a blog writeup somewhere. It’s the perfect girly party add on. So a bachelorette was the ultimate reason to purchase the sparkly, girly, perfectly worded accessory. I plan to use it again for all future girly parties as well. PS – it’s from here if you’d like your very own!
The other signage elements were of the handmade and sentimental variety. Growing up, the Mopipas’ favorite movie was Now and Then, a girly Stand By Me in essence. It’s quintessential to our childhood/early adulthood, a slumber party go-to cult fave. Watch it, if you haven’t, if you’re of the girly variety. So I took some of the pseudo-raunch quotes from the movie and made signs of them to scatter around the hotel room. They were a hit and a hoot and a nice lil’ reminder of the eons and eons us bridesmaids have been in each others’ company. Always good to be reminded of that. As the gals of Now and Then would say, “All for one and one for all”!
