This past weekend the hubs and I headed to Sauble Beach on Lake Huron for some summer fun in the sun. My in-laws have a cottage there, but rent it out most of the summer, so in reality I never really get to go much, plus it’s a 3 hour trek from Toronto. Rob and I have been together for almost 7 years and I’ve only been there 3 times. Boo hoo. Though super excited for when we have a fam jam one day and can take week long vacays up there, the beach is beautiful and the water clean, and you are so out of the city that it really does feel like you’ve gone somewhere far away.
This last week, however, the renters of the cottage were our good friends, the Perkovic family. So we left work early on Friday (glorious in and of itself), took to the open road and headed for a little r+r (well they have 3 kiddos, so not really r+r, but family fun for sure). Friday night consisted of a fish party on the ol’ BBQ and Saturday was yummy brunch and then beach bumming time.
Rob and I were there really for only about 24 hours, but it was the kind of 24 hours which felt like much longer than that. Refreshing and tiring in the sunshiney sun.
Now that summer is almost over and the nights and mornings have that fall chill and crisp smell in the air, we’re trying to soak up every last ray of summer sunshine and let it pour it’s sweetness over us.
:) Pics after the jump!
