Best Friend Bachelorette Recap
Remember how at the end of the movie The Hangover, they find the camera from their weekend shenanigans, with pictures of all their debauchery, and they agree to look at the pictures once together and then delete them?
Well, after the other weekend’s bachelorette craziness for my best friend Caroline, we could probably have used our own little view and delete party. There were some moments and memories that are in the vault, locked up with some good ol’ common sensed self-censorship. That being said, it was an epic bachelorette and an amazing girl’s night out, one for the books.
The 3 part downtown T.O. agenda consisted of a hotel pre-party at One King West, dinner at Bar Mozza on King West, and clubbing it up at Dolce Social Ballroom on King West. Here’s a lil’ (very edited) recap on the whole shabangaroo in the aforementioned 3 parts:
HOTEL PRE-PARTY
As MOH, I arrived early with a fellow bridesmaid to check in to the hotel and get the room ready and decorated for the arrival of the bride. The room was our home base for the pre-party festivities, including food and drink, present opening, games, and getting dolled up for the night ahead, as well as of course a crash pad after the night’s fun was had.
We glitzed and glammed the room up, with the colour theme being pink, black, and white (with some hints of zebra), as well as the necessary bachelorette themed male member paraphenelia. Naturally, there were also tissue paper pom poms to add some femininity to the raunch. More on the décor in another post!
Once the bride arrived, we spent time chatting and girl-ing. We then opened presents, and there’s not much that is PG enough to discuss in that! We also played a drinking game bout of “never have I ever”, and then alas, it was time to get ready for the night ahead.
All ladies were requested to wear black, as the night was deemed the funeral to Caroline’s singledom, and we were in mourning.
DINNER
Dinner was held at a new-ish place on King West that I had heard a lot of great things about and of which I had read some great reviews. Admittedly, they were also one of the only places that would take a reservation for a larger group on a Saturday night. In the end, it was a deliciously authentic Italian restaurant, attached to a small gourmet grocery store. It was so authentic, that at one point the waiter just bursted out in operatic song. But not in a cheesy way, it was actually quite beautiful and romantic. The owner also treated all of us ladies to a round of prosecco, which helped with leaving a lingering warm and fuzzy feeling about the place.
CLUB
Time for the party hearty essence of the night… the music, the dance, the drank. We chose the club for no particular reason other than proximity to the restaurant (to be able to walk post dinner and not have to cab it) and the fact of a nice outdoor patio area. Either way, we knew that no matter where we went, the people make the night, and not the place. And the night was definitely made. Great group of girls, dares for the bride to act out, and a multitude of wild laughter. The feeling of being young, wild, and carefree again (sigh). Seems to be a theme for moi this month, living it up. Hate to say it again, but YOLO.
And with that, that is that.
